Second Interview

1. What would you like to see in a soca music video?
More information about how they create the music and videos (i.e. studio shots, performance), stuff about their lives, information about carnivals and how they create all the costumes.

2. What aspects of modern music videos do you like?
Finding out more about the artists, things they’re into, how they create their music, and their imaginations and how they use it.

3. How do you feel about certain representations presented in modern music videos?
It shows what kind of artists they are, how shallow or open their minds are, how great their imagination is or not, and how much money they have to spend.

4. Do you think soca music videos are easier to create than mainstream music videos? Why?
I think they are harder to create because they don’t have the budget hat mainstream videos have. If they had the same budget then their music videos would be completely different.

5. Do you prefer it when lyrics match the occurrences in the video?

I do not prefer it, I like to be surprised, I like my thoughts to be provoked with images that don’t simply imitate the lyrics. It makes you think in a different way to when I hear the lyrics. I like my brain to be stimulated.
