As director during the duration of the coursework I effectively took creative control of the project. The main aim or purpose of the director included bringing a vision of a music video to reality. Thus duties delegated to me included:
- deciding on different locations
- deciding on which type of shots to shoot
- instructing the editor as to how it should be edited
- various other duties
being the director meant that I had to take into consideration many different factors when making decisions. In order to do so many different skills were needed such as:
- knowledge of editing
- knowledge of camera-work
- attention to detail
- the ability to work towards deadlines
- leadership in order to coordinate the filming process
A passion for directing is also useful as the process of directing can become tedious over time.
